United Arab Emirates
Set up on the mainland through your emirate's Department of Economy or in one of the 40+ free zones — each its own registrar, with no federal companies registry — then register for Corporate Tax and, above the threshold, VAT. 100% foreign ownership is permitted in all legal forms of the Commercial Companies Law since Federal Decree-Law 26 of 2020, with strategic-impact sectors still restricted. Corporate Tax is 0% on taxable income up to AED 375,000 and 9% above; a Qualifying Free Zone Person pays 0% on Qualifying Income and 9% on the rest, subject to the qualifying conditions and adequate substance. VAT is 5%, mandatory above AED 375,000 of taxable supplies and voluntary from AED 187,500. Arabic is the official language of the authorities and statutory filings need certified Arabic translation, though the federal authorities and the free zones work in English day to day.
