Bookkeeping in United Arab Emirates

A monthly close that produces the records behind the two filings that matter: the single annual Corporate Tax return, due within nine months of your tax period end, and the VAT return on the monthly or quarterly period the FTA assigns you. Books are kept audit-ready, because many free zones — DMCC and JAFZA among them — mandate audited financial statements annually, and audited financials are also required for Corporate Tax above a revenue threshold and for Qualifying Free Zone Persons. Where you employ staff, payroll is reconciled to the Wage Protection System salary runs; there is no federal social-security contribution for expatriate employees (end-of-service gratuity applies instead), while UAE and GCC nationals are covered by GPSSA pension contributions.

A company that wants its books closed every month by someone who will notice the problem before the auditor does.

Timeline

1–2 weeks

From kick-off to hand-over, once we have what we need from you.

Commitment

Minimum term 3 months

Billed monthly. After 3 months it continues month to month and either side may end it with 30 days' notice.

How we work

One named lead

The same person from the first call to hand-over, not a queue.

What you get

  • Monthly ledger maintenance and journal entries
  • Bank, card and vendor reconciliation
  • Sales and purchase register upkeep
  • Input-credit matching against the filed returns
  • A monthly closing pack: profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position
  • A named accountant who answers your questions in the same month

What is not included

  • The statutory audit and the auditor's fee. An auditor is appointed separately
  • Tax and return filing, which are separate services on this site
  • Accounting software licences
  • Reconstructing prior-year books, quoted separately after a look at the state of them
  • Any representation before a tax authority

Anything here can be added to a bookkeeping engagement, quoted separately before it starts.

What we need from you

Projects run late for one reason far more than any other: waiting on something only you can provide. These are the ones that hold the clock.

  • Bank statements for every account, monthly
  • Sales and purchase invoices as they are raised
  • The payroll register and statutory deduction records
  • Read access to your accounting software, or agreement to use ours

How it runs

You will see these exact stages update in your client portal as we progress.

  1. Records Received

    The month's records collected.

  2. Reconciled

Accounts reconciled, VAT input and output matched and WPS payroll tied in.

  3. Books Closed

Reporting pack delivered, audit-ready for the annual accounts and the Corporate Tax return.

Ready to start?

This one is priced to your situation — most of what we do needs a local filing agent, so we scope it rather than guess. Tell us the specifics and we come back with a fixed quote and a confirmed timeline, within one business day.

A monthly engagement, not a filing

No authority is involved and there is no statutory fee. The price on this page buys the scope described on this page; work outside it is quoted separately and approved by you first, and either side may end the engagement after the minimum term. Your proposal and engagement letter are the binding documents.
