Trademark Registration in British Virgin Islands
A national BVI trade-mark registration under the Trade Marks Act 2013. The statutory fees are US$200 to register a mark in one class and US$100 for each additional class, for a term of 10 years from registration renewable for successive 10-year periods; a defensive mark is US$200 for the first class and US$150 per additional class, and a series is US$250 for the first two marks and US$75 for each further mark in the series. Nice classification applies. The application must be filed through a trade-mark agent on the FSC's registered-trade-mark-agents list. Note the routes that do NOT exist: the BVI is not part of the EU or EUIPO and is not a Madrid Protocol member in its own right, so protection can only be obtained by a direct national BVI filing — there is no regional or Madrid designation into the BVI. Processing is commonly reported at around 7 to 12 months, which is a market observation rather than a published service standard.

A BVI application must be filed through a registered trade-mark agent. The FSC's US$350 admission and US$250 annual renewal fees apply to the agent, not to the applicant, and are not charged on.
