Trademark Registration in United States

US federal trade mark, filed through Trademark Center at $350 per class — a single base fee since 18 January 2025, when the legacy TEAS Plus ($225) and TEAS Standard ($275) tiers were retired and TEAS itself decommissioned. Filing is PER CLASS, so a two-class application is $700. Two surcharges are avoidable and we avoid them: $200 per class for using free-form wording instead of the USPTO ID Manual (plus another $200 for each additional 1,000 characters of it) and $100 per class where the application lacks statutorily sufficient information. There is NO small-entity or micro-entity discount for trademarks — that system is patents only — so a solo founder pays what a large corporation pays. Registration runs 10 years and renews indefinitely, maintained by a $325-per-class Section 8 declaration of continued use and a $325-per-class Section 9 renewal. If your domicile is outside the United States you MUST be represented by a US-licensed attorney (rule effective 3 August 2019); Comriq engages counsel on your behalf.

What we will need from you

Upload these once. They are stored encrypted and reused across every service you buy from us.

  • Wordmark or logo file

  • Goods and services, in the correct Nice class(es)

Fee is per class. Using pre-approved ID Manual wording avoids the $200-per-class free-form surcharge — a real, quotable saving.

  • Filing basis

Use in commerce under Section 1(a), with a specimen showing the mark in use, or intent to use under Section 1(b), with a later Statement of Use and its own fee; a foreign applicant may also file under Section 44 or the Madrid Protocol Section 66(a). Confirmed against the USPTO at filing — this basis detail was not itself verified in our research.

  • US-licensed attorney of record for a foreign-domiciled applicant

A hard requirement, not an option: any applicant, registrant or party domiciled outside the United States must be represented by a US-licensed attorney (rule effective 3 August 2019).

Cost breakdown

Our fee and the government’s are always separate lines. Government fees are passed through at exactly what the authority charges — we add nothing to them.

These are the authority’s published lines. Which of them apply depends on your filing — a schedule by headcount, capital or entity type is one line, not all of them — and the applicable line is confirmed before payment, at cost.
