On 25 April 2026 DPIIT issued the operational guidelines for the Rs 10,000 crore Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0. The scheme is deployed through SEBI-registered Category I and II Alternative Investment Funds investing in DPIIT-recognised startups. AIFs are segmented into deep tech focused funds, micro venture capital funds for early-growth startups, innovative and technology-led manufacturing funds, and sector and stage agnostic funds, each with defined corpus thresholds, government contribution limits, tenure and minimum private capital mobilisation ratios. Selection is a two-stage process - screening and due diligence by the Implementation Agency, then evaluation by a Venture Capital Investment Committee. SIDBI is the initial Implementation Agency and DPIIT will onboard a second.
