Patent Registration in Thailand
Patent prosecution with the DIP under the Patent Act B.E. 2522 — an invention patent (20-year term) is filed for THB 500, with a THB 250 substantive-examination request, THB 250 publication and THB 500 grant fee, then rising annual maintenance fees from year 5. A petty patent (utility model, 6 years extendable to 10) and a design patent (10 years) are each filed for THB 250. A foreign applicant files a power of attorney (within 90 days of filing) through a local agent.
