Tax Registration in Singapore
GST registration with IRAS, plus set-up for corporate income tax (which IRAS administers for an incorporated company without a separate registration step). GST registration is compulsory once taxable turnover exceeds S$1 million — tested retrospectively at the end of the calendar year, and prospectively where turnover is reasonably expected to exceed S$1m in the next 12 months — and may also be taken up voluntarily. The standard GST rate is 9% (raised to 9% from 1 January 2024). Voluntary registrants also fall into the InvoiceNow e-invoicing rollout: from 1 November 2025 newly incorporated companies registering voluntarily must adopt InvoiceNow, and from 1 April 2026 all new voluntary registrants must, with the requirement extending to all GST-registered businesses by April 2031.
