Patent Registration in Singapore
Singapore patent prosecution with IPOS. The request for grant (Form PF1) is S$170; search and examination can be taken together on Form PF11 (S$2,050 where no foreign search or examination is relied on) or split into a search report on Form PF10 (S$1,735) and an examination report on Form PF12 (S$1,420) where a foreign search is used; an excess-claim fee of S$80 applies per claim over 15, payable at the response stage from 1 April 2026. The grant fee (Form PF14) is S$210, effective from 1 September 2025. Search and examination must be requested within 36 months of the filing date or priority date, whichever is earlier. The term is up to 20 years from filing, maintained by annual renewal fees (Form PF15) from the fifth year. A foreign applicant needs a Singapore address for service and, without one, must appoint a registered Singapore patent agent.
