Tax Registration in Qatar

Registration of the company with the General Tax Authority on Dhareeba, the GTA's electronic system, which has been mandatory since 1 November 2020 and through which every filing and payment runs. Corporate income tax is 10% under Income Tax Law No. 24 of 2018, charged on the profit share attributable to FOREIGN (non-Qatari, non-GCC) ownership — the share attributable to Qatari and GCC nationals resident in Qatar is exempt, though a wholly Qatari-owned entity may still carry registration and filing obligations. A 35% rate applies to petroleum and petrochemical operations under Law No. 3 of 2007. There is NO VAT, no sales tax and no personal income tax in Qatar: Qatar has signed the GCC VAT Framework Agreement and a 5% VAT is anticipated, but no official implementation date has been confirmed, so there is no VAT registration to make. Excise tax registration applies only to importers and producers of excise goods. Arabic is mandatory for all GTA correspondence.

What we will need from you

Upload these once. They are stored encrypted and reused across every service you buy from us.

  • Commercial registration (CR) and trade licence

  • Ownership breakdown by nationality (Qatari / GCC / foreign)

Corporate income tax attaches to the foreign-owned profit share, so the shareholder split drives the charge.

  • Accounting period and appointed licensed auditor

  • Details of the manager / authorised representative for Dhareeba

Cost breakdown

Our fee and the government’s are always separate lines. Government fees are passed through at exactly what the authority charges — we add nothing to them.
