Tax Filing & Returns in Nepal

Preparation and filing of the annual corporate income-tax return under the Income Tax Act 2058 — the standard rate is 25% (banks, financial institutions and general insurance 30%; certain sin sectors carry surcharges) — due within 3 months of the fiscal year-end (extendable to 6), plus advance tax in three instalments (Poush/Chaitra/Ashad). VAT returns (flat 13%) and TDS deposits are due by the 25th of the following month. Nepal's fiscal year runs mid-July to mid-July (Shrawan–Ashad); all deadlines are Bikram Sambat (BS) dates.
