Patent Registration in Nepal
Patent registration with the Department of Industry under the Patent, Design and Trade Mark Act 2022 (1965). Note Nepal's patent term is unusually short: 7 years from the date of registration, renewable NOT more than twice (maximum effective life ~21 years) — NOT the TRIPS 20-years-from-filing standard, because the governing Act is old legislation. Patents (other than those kept secret in the national interest) are published in the Nepal Gazette and any person may object within 35 days. A foreign patent is not valid in Nepal unless registered here; a Nepal attorney may act for a foreign applicant (s.20).

For a foreign applicant: any foreign registration certificate and appointment of a Nepal attorney/legal practitioner
The Act does not on its face mandate a resident agent (s.20 permits appointment of an attorney whose acts are deemed the applicant's), but local representation is effectively necessary; the DoI may register a foreign-registered right and extend Paris Convention facilities (s.21C). Confirm any address-for-service requirement in the Industrial Property Rules at quote.
