Patent Registration in Luxembourg
A Luxembourg national patent is granted through the Office de la propriété intellectuelle within the Ministry of the Economy (BOIP handles only Benelux trade marks and designs, not patents), for a 20-year term maintained by annual renewal fees. A European patent via the EPO can designate or validate in Luxembourg, and Luxembourg participates in the Unitary Patent — the usual route where protection beyond Luxembourg is wanted.
