Fire NOC in Uttarakhand

The fire-safety no-objection certificate required before the premises may be occupied in Uttarakhand. Governed by The Uttarakhand Fire & Emergency Service, Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Act, 2016 (Uttarakhand Act No. 37 of 2016), as amended by the Uttarakhand Fire and Emergency Service (Amendment) Act, 2022, read with the National Building Code of India 2016 Part 4 and the Uttarakhand Building Bye-laws. Applies where: Building plans for buildings of 15 metres and above in height; industrial units and commercial establishments with covered area above 5,000 sq metres; establishments dealing with or using explosive and highly inflammable substances. Renewal: The department portal publishes a notification extending fire NOC validity periods to 3 and 5 years. Separately, section 9(2) requires the owner or occupier of a categorised building or campus to apply in the first terminal of every calendar year, and the Chief Fire Officer must act on his own if no application is received by the last date of March. The authority does not publish a fee we could read at source, so the State fee is quoted per engagement and passed through at cost — we never substitute a plausible figure.
