Shops & Establishment Registration in Sikkim
Registration of a shop or commercial establishment under the State's own Shops and Establishments legislation in Sikkim. Governed by the Sikkim Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1983 and Rules, 1984; overlapping with the Sikkim Labour (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2021 (Act No. 11 of 2021). Applies where: Under the 2021 Act: every establishment, principal employer or owner, and every Service Provider/Sub-Service Provider who employed labourers on any day of the preceding 12 months (no minimum headcount stated). Renewal: Under the 2021 Act, an establishment/Service Provider licence is valid 1 year or until completion of work, whichever is earlier (Section 13(3)); renewal application due 30 days before expiry, with a late-renewal fine of Rs 50/day in excess of the ordinary fee (Section 16). The State fee below was read from the authority's own published schedule and is passed through at cost.
