MSME / Udyam Registration in India
Udyam (MSME) registration on the government portal. Beyond priority-sector credit and tender access, the certificate has a concrete, verified use in our own IP work: 'small enterprise' status under the Trade Marks Rules 2017 rule 2 — which takes the MSMED Act 2006 s.7(1)(a) and s.7(1)(b) medium-enterprise investment limits — halves the trade mark filing fee to Rs 4,500 per class instead of Rs 9,000, and the same class of applicant pays the concessional column of the patent First Schedule (Form 1 at Rs 1,600 instead of Rs 8,000, request for examination at Rs 4,000 instead of Rs 20,000). We file the Udyam registration first where a client is about to file IP. NOTE ON SOURCING: the 10-Sep-2026 run could not read a fee page on udyamregistration.gov.in (it served only a statistics factsheet), so the old claim that the portal charges no fee has been withdrawn — see the fee note.
