Trade Licence in Meghalaya
The municipal trade licence permitting a trade to be carried on at a given address in Meghalaya. Governed by the Shillong Municipal Bye-Law 136, "Regulation of business transactions, commercial and industrial establishments within the Municipality", made under Section 302 of the Meghalaya Municipal Act, 1973, which repealed and replaced Bye-laws 136, 136A and 136B. Applies where: Every listed business within the Shillong Municipality, of any size. Businesses producing toxic or hazardous waste must first obtain consent to establish from the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board before the Board will issue the licence. Renewal: Not stated in the bye-law. The only periodicity published anywhere on the Board site is the word "per quarter" on the Fees Details page. The authority does not publish a fee we could read at source, so the State fee is quoted per engagement and passed through at cost — we never substitute a plausible figure.
