Trade Licence in Maharashtra
The municipal trade licence permitting a trade to be carried on at a given address in Maharashtra. Governed by the Section 394 of the Mumbai (Bombay) Municipal Corporation Act, 1888, and Schedule M with the Schedule of Licence Fees and Rules appended to it. Applies where: Any person keeping any of the listed articles on premises above the specified free or minimum quantity, or carrying on any of the listed trades, within the corporation's jurisdiction. The Commissioner has discretion to vary the maximum quantity specified against an article when it is kept in combination with another listed article. Renewal: Annual. The licence must be renewed every year on payment of the annual fee in the schedule. Renewal is effective only when the renewal endorsement is made on the licence - forwarding the fee by cheque, by post or by hand delivery is expressly not sufficient. The licence is NON-TRANSFERABLE as regards the persons named in it. A licence fee once paid is not refundable in any circumstance, even if the licence is cancelled or revoked during the validity period.
