Labour Welfare Fund in Maharashtra

Labour Welfare Fund registration and the periodic contribution it requires in Maharashtra. Governed by the Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1953. Applies where: Factories; tramway, motor omnibus service or motor transport undertakings; and any establishment within the meaning of the Bombay Shops and Establishments Act, 1948 which employs, or on any working day during the preceding twelve months employed, FIVE or more persons. An establishment stays covered despite a later fall below five, and ceases to be covered only if head-count stays below five for a continuous three months. Renewal: Half-yearly; contribution is computed on employees on the register at 30 June and 31 December each year. The State fee below was read from the authority's own published schedule and is passed through at cost.
