Fire NOC in Maharashtra
The fire-safety no-objection certificate required before the premises may be occupied in Maharashtra. Governed by The Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006 (Maharashtra Act No. III of 2007), with the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Rules, 2009. Applies where: The Act applies only to a building in respect of which a fee is assessable and leviable as specified in Schedule II; the Schedule itself sets the height and area bands. For Business Buildings there is no lower cut-off - the first band is simply 'less than 10 m in height'. Construction of a Business Building above 24 m in height is NOT ALLOWED in Municipal Corporations with population up to 10 lakhs. Renewal: An annual further fee of one per cent of the minimum fee applies under section 13(1), levied to defray fire protection expenses and regular check and inspection. A Licensed Agency's own licence is separately renewable on application under section 9. The State fee below was read from the authority's own published schedule and is passed through at cost.
