Factory Licence in Andhra Pradesh

Registration of the premises as a factory and the licence to operate it under the Factories Act 1948 in Andhra Pradesh. Governed by the Factories Act, 1948 with the Andhra Pradesh Factories Rules, 1950 (licence fee prescribed by the Schedule to Rule 5). Applies where: Ten or more workers with power used in the manufacturing process, or twenty or more workers without power. Factories not notified under section 85(1) with power and fewer than ten workers, and non-power factories with fewer than twenty workers, need not pay the licence fee at all. Renewal: The licence itself is valid unless duly cancelled, but the annual licence fee must be paid before the commencement of each calendar year (or three years' fee in one lump sum for a three-year block). Annual returns are also due. The authority does not publish a fee we could read at source, so the State fee is quoted per engagement and passed through at cost — we never substitute a plausible figure.
