Tax Filing & Returns in United Kingdom

Preparation and filing of the Company Tax Return (CT600) with iXBRL accounts and computations, and of the periodic VAT return. The CT600 is filed 12 months after the end of the Corporation Tax accounting period, but the tax is payable 9 months and 1 day after the period end — the payment deadline falls BEFORE the filing deadline. Corporation Tax is charged at the 25% main rate on profits over £250,000 and the 19% small profits rate on profits up to £50,000, with Marginal Relief in between; the limits are divided by the number of associated companies and reduced for short accounting periods (rates for financial years from 1 April 2023). Large companies pay by quarterly instalments — the instalment thresholds come from the Instalment Payments Regulations and are confirmed at quote, not stated here. VAT returns are usually quarterly (some monthly or annual) and both the return and the payment are due 1 calendar month and 7 days after the end of the VAT accounting period; every VAT-registered business is now signed up for Making Tax Digital and must file through MTD-compatible software.

Cost breakdown

Our fee and the government’s are always separate lines. Government fees are passed through at exactly what the authority charges — we add nothing to them.

HMRC filing feeHMRC publishes no fee for filing a CT600 or a VAT return; the 10-Sep-2026 research rendered the deadline pages but no fee schedule, so no amount — including zero — is asserted. The tax itself is separate: Corporation Tax is due 9 months and 1 day after the period end (25% over £250,000, 19% up to £50,000, Marginal Relief between), and VAT is due with the return 1 month and 7 days after the period end.Confirmed before payment
