Patent Registration in Germany
German patent prosecution with the DPMA — electronic filing €40 (up to 10 claims), an optional §43 search €300, and examination at €150 (with a prior search) or €350 (without). The patent runs 20 years from filing; annual renewal fees start in the third year at €70 and rise to €2,030 in year 20. A German or EU/EEA representative is required for a foreign applicant. A European patent via the EPO is an alternative route.
