Patent Registration in Switzerland
Swiss national patent prosecution with the IPI/IGE — a filing fee of CHF 200 and an examination fee of CHF 500 (invoiced roughly two to three years after filing), with CHF 50 for each claim beyond the eleventh. The patent runs 20 years from filing, maintained by graduated annual renewal fees due from the 4th year. The Swiss national patent covers Switzerland and Liechtenstein; a European patent via the EPO (validated in CH) or the PCT route are the alternatives for broader protection.
